Redesigning packing line: using existing and new conveyor belts

Vitelco in ’s-Hertogenbosch is a supplier of prime quality veal. Following the extension in 2012, the production volume of the veal slaughterhouse has continued to grow significantly.

In order to facilitate the increase in production whilst fully complying with the most recent statutory requirements on food safety, an automated track and trace system has been built into the production process.

Paul Meeuwissen, Operational Director:

“Working out what would be the most efficient routing and layout in the production area was a challenge that we still had to overcome. Marvu optimally translated our wishes and created an inventive, customer-specific solution, which has given us the targeted efficiency all along the (internal transport) routing of the cutting line and the packing section. After making the final adjustments, we easily achieved our predetermined goal of a minimum increase in efficiency of 5% in the packing section. Because Marvu always prepares well for projects like this one and takes all the details into account, there are never any major problems when a ‘system goes live’. Any issues discovered in acceptance testing are immediately addressed and correctly resolved.”
